Project Description: |
Provide multiple matching grants of up to $30,000 improve the visual appearance and condition of their storefronts and the accessibility of their building exteriors and ground floors. Funds could help make businesses and properties more inviting and attractive, providing better access to underutilized areas and reducing the burden of commercial vacancy on the community. |

Update: Four (4) properties were awarded $69,000 in match funding for facade improvements, accessibility, and aesthetic improvements. Work is expected to be completed by Summer 2016.

Improvements include:
* Removal of iron stains from granite steps, repaint hand-rails on stairway & north side of building; re-caulk façade, windows, replace granite cornerstone; scrape & paint flagpole.
* Replace chain link fencing w/6 ft. ornamental iron or aluminum fencing and gates.
* New front landscaping, hardscape of permeable stone; planter boxes with drought-resistant perennial flowers
