The City of Vallejo's Social Media Policy

This site is intended to facilitate communication between the public and the City on the listed topics and serves as a limited public forum. The City monitors the content of the posts, and while the City will not delete posts simply because they are critical of the agency, its officials or employees, the City does reserve the right to restrict or remove any content deemed in violation of the City’s social media policy or any applicable law, including:

a. Comments not topically related to the particular social medium article being commented upon;

b. Political endorsements, comments in support of or opposition to political campaigns or ballot measures;

c. Threatening or profane language or content;

d. Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation;

e. Sexual content or links to sexual content;

f. Solicitations of commerce;

g. Conduct or encouragement of illegal activity; illegal activity is defined as violations of local, state or federal law.

h. Information that may tend to compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems.

i. Content that violates a legal ownership interest of any other party.

The City reserves its right to remove a visitor or permanently ban a visitor from the page for repeated violations of this policy.
