SUMMARY
Preceding the Maintenance Division's remarkable achievement of installing over 7,200 new LED streetlights in 77 days in 2015, this project helped begin Vallejo's street light conversion efforts with funding from the Department of Energy's Energy Efficiency and Conversion Block Grant (EECBG) Program, for removal of 924 high-pressure sodium fixtures and replacement with new LED streetlight fixtures. The decreased electricity consumed by the LED fixtures since the completion of the citywide conversion has resulted in an average annual savings of over $300,000.
